The Music Hall Tavern and Betty Boops have been established for some time, each with its own unique style and atmosphere, but both offering a fantastic night out. New kid on the block is Guapatini´s Showbar, opened in 2025, and quickly becoming a very popular night out for both tourist and Lanzarote residents. Over the years, drag shows have become a favourite among visitors and locals alike, often recommended as a must-try experience here on the island. If you are looking for a memorable evening in Lanzarote, these shows are well worth considering.
Music Hall Tavern

Music Hall Tavern has been part of Lanzarote’s Nightlife scene for over 25 years, and it’s become something of a local institution here in Puerto del Carmen. The venue is purpose-built for its lively dinner shows, and over the years it has earned a loyal following from both residents and visitors. The show itself is a joyful mix of live singing, comedy sketches, audience participation, quick-fire costume changes and plenty of choreographed routines, all delivered by a talented cast of drag performers. It’s an evening full of laughter, music and good company.
The evening starts with a three-course meal at cabaret-style tables, served before and during the first half of the show. The food is generous and satisfying, but it’s the entertainment that really draws people in. Once the lights go down, the atmosphere comes alive. The cast are talented singers and entertainers, performing everything from classic show tunes and Motown favourites to modern pop hits. The comedy is quick and good-natured, and you’ll often find the audience joining in the fun.
The cast change costumes at an impressive pace, each outfit more colourful and creative than the last. For a resort venue, the production is surprisingly polished, with great lighting and sound that add to the sense of occasion. The atmosphere is always welcoming and lively, and you’ll see all sorts of people enjoying a night out together; couples, groups of friends, families with older teens, and plenty of celebrations. Shows take place several nights a week and are very popular, so it’s wise to book ahead, especially in the busier months. The ticket price usually covers your meal and the show, with drinks available to order. If you’re coming from anywhere in Puerto del Carmen, local taxis know the venue well.
Betty Boops Comedy Drag Show

Betty Boops is another favourite spot for drag and cabaret in Puerto del Carmen, offering a different but just as enjoyable experience as the well-known Music Hall Tavern. Tucked away on the Avenida de las Playas, Betty Boops has a cosy, bar-style feel where the performers are never far from the audience. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with plenty of laughter, music and those lovely moments when the whole room feels part of the show.
The shows here are always full of energy, with talented drag artists who sing, lip-sync, and keep everyone entertained with their quick wit and playful humour. There is plenty of gentle teasing and sometimes a bit of improvised comedy with guests who are happy to join in. The performers really know how to make everyone feel included, and because the audience is such a big part of the fun, no two nights are ever quite the same.
Shows at Betty Boops take place several nights a week, usually starting a little later in the evening, around 10pm. This is a bar rather than a dinner show, so you can simply order drinks as you like and settle in for the evening. The space is small enough that you always feel close to the action, and when the place is full, the atmosphere is fantastic. The performers know just how to build the mood, and by the end of the night, you will often find the whole room singing and dancing along. If you want a good seat, it is worth arriving early, as it can get busy on show nights.
Guapatini´s Show Bar

Guapatini’s Show Bar in Puerto del Carmen offers a lively evening of comedy, live vocals, dazzling costumes and audience interaction, making it a popular choice for visitors looking for something a little different after a day exploring Lanzarote. Hosted by the charismatic Contessa Guapatini, each performance combines humour, music and cabaret in an intimate setting where every seat enjoys a great view of the stage.
Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a memorable night out, Guapatini’s provides an entertaining experience for couples, groups of friends and families with older children. With its welcoming atmosphere, talented performer and fast-paced show, it’s easy to see why many holidaymakers recommend it as one of Puerto del Carmen’s top evening entertainment venues.
Booking is required, at the time of writing there are three shows per week, priced at 20euros for adults and 15euros for kids!
What to Expect from Comedy Drag Shows in Lanzarote

If you have never experienced a drag show before, Lanzarote is a wonderful place to give it a try. The atmosphere is warm and inclusive, and the shows are designed to make everyone feel welcome. The humour is playful and sometimes a little cheeky, but always good-natured. Audience participation is all part of the fun here, with the performers gently encouraging volunteers to join in with singalongs and light-hearted comedy. If you find yourself near the front, you might be invited to take part, but the entertainers are very good at sensing who is keen and who would rather simply enjoy the show from their seat.
The performances celebrate music, comedy, glamour and the sheer joy of live entertainment.
The level of talent on stage is genuinely impressive, with performers who sing, dance, and keep the laughs coming, all while managing costume changes that have to be seen to be believed. You can look forward to a mix of show tunes, pop favourites, Motown, disco and the odd surprise number that gets everyone cheering. The energy and sparkle of the performers is infectious, and it is almost impossible not to leave with a big smile on your face. Many visitors tell us it ends up being the highlight of their holiday.
How to Book a Lanzarote Comedy Drag Show and Prices
All three venues are firm favourites with visitors and locals alike, so it is always wise to book ahead, especially during the busy months from October to April and around the main holidays. Shows often fill up quickly, so if there is a particular night you have in mind, it is best not to leave it too late.
You can book the Music Hall Tavern directly on their website, by phone, or simply ask at your hotel reception or one of the excursion desks dotted around the island. The ticket usually covers a three-course dinner and the show itself, with drinks available to buy at the bar. Prices range from about 40 to 55 euros per person, depending on the night and time of year, which is great value for a full evening out. Betty Boops is a little more relaxed, working on both walk-ins and reservations, as it is a bar rather than a dinner venue. Sometimes there is a small cover charge, sometimes entry is free, and drinks are at regular bar prices. It is always worth checking their social media or local posters for the latest show times and any special events. Guapatinis works mainly by reservation and can be booked via their facebook page or website.
All three venues are found in Puerto del Carmen. If you are staying in Playa Blanca or Costa Teguise, the easiest way to get there is by taxi or as part of an organised excursion. Some excursion companies even include transport from other resorts when you book for the Music Hall Tavern, which makes the evening even more relaxing. Your hotel reception will always have up-to-date information on show times, booking options and the best way to get there.
Why Drag Shows Are a Lanzarote Highlight of your holiday
You might not expect a volcanic island in the Atlantic to be home to such a vibrant drag cabaret scene, but here on Lanzarote, these shows have been part of our nightlife for many years. The performers are true professionals, many of whom have become familiar faces to those of us who live here and to visitors who return year after year just to see them light up the stage.
These shows are often mentioned as a highlight by visitors, sometimes even ahead of our famous beaches and volcanic landscapes. It is not unusual to see guests coming back for a second show during their stay, or making the drag nights a regular part of their Lanzarote holidays. The atmosphere is always full of laughter and good spirits, and many people leave with memories they will talk about long after they return home.
For me, the drag cabaret scene is a wonderful reflection of Lanzarote’s open-minded and creative spirit. The island has always welcomed people from all walks of life, shaped by the artistic influence of César Manrique and the friendly mix of locals and visitors. These shows are all about fun, creativity and sharing a great night out together. They have become just as much a part of the Lanzarote experience as exploring Timanfaya or enjoying a glass of local wine. If you are thinking about going, I can only encourage you to give it a try.
