Playa Blanca, nestled at the southern tip of Lanzarote, has grown from its roots as a peaceful fishing village into the island’s most refined resort. You can still sense that gentle pace of life, especially in the evenings when the sea breeze drifts in.

The dining scene here is a real pleasure, with Marina Rubicon offering elegant waterfront restaurants, while the heart of town serves up a friendly mix of casual and mid-range places to eat. Over in Las Coloradas and Faro Park, you’ll find quieter spots that feel more like local neighbourhoods. Across the board, the quality is a notch above what you might expect in the busier resorts, and it’s one of the reasons so many of us who live here choose to dine out in Playa Blanca.

Marina Rubicon, Playa Blanca Waterfront Dining at Its Best

Marina Rubicon Eating out in Playa Blanca

For many of us who know Playa Blanca well, the marina is the heart of the dining scene. Here, yachts sway gently beside waterfront terraces, and the standard of food is reliably high. While you may find prices a little higher than in other parts of town, the beautiful setting and relaxed atmosphere make it a worthwhile treat.

Amura Marina Rubicon is widely regarded as the standout restaurant in the marina, serving up Mediterranean dishes with a focus on fresh seafood and careful presentation. We are especially fond of the sea bass ceviche and the grilled octopus. If you have the chance, book a table on the terrace for sunset. Watching the changing colours over the water is a real treat.

La Brasserie de l'Ile brings a touch of French bistro charm to the marina, with steak frites, duck confit and bouillabaisse sitting comfortably alongside local seafood. Their wine list is one of the best in the south, making it a lovely spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family.

Restaurante El Mirador certainly lives up to its name, with wide views across the marina and a menu that brings together Spanish classics and international flavours. The fresh fish platters for two are always generous and well prepared, ideal for sharing as you watch the boats drift in and out.

Casa Brigida is a long-standing favourite for anyone who enjoys Canarian cooking with a modern touch. Traditional dishes are given a new lease of life here. The grilled goat's cheese with fig jam is especially good, and the daily catch is always fresh and well cooked.

Jungle Vibes is a lively, fairly recent addition, to the marina. With its green, plant-filled décor and playful menu, it has quickly become a popular spot for both relaxed lunches and sociable evenings. The menu is a creative mix of Latin American and Asian flavours, with bao buns, ceviche and colourful poke bowls all beautifully presented. Their tropical cocktails are well worth trying, and there is often a good atmosphere thanks to resident DJs or live acoustic music. Whether you are looking for a casual bite or want to enjoy the buzz with friends as the sun sets, Jungle Vibes adds a fresh and cheerful note to Playa Blanca’s dining scene.

A couple of other favourites in the marina at the moment are Taberna del Puerto, known for its Andalusian-style tapas and excellent local wines. The grilled sardines and garlic prawns are perfect for sharing, and the atmosphere is always relaxed and friendly, especially on market days.

For something special, Liken offers seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and creative tasting menus. The chefs here enjoy experimenting, and the results often showcase the best of Lanzarote’s farms and waters, all served in a stylish but welcoming setting.

The marina also hosts a lively market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with food stalls offering everything from paella to German bratwurst. It is a great choice for a relaxed bite to eat and always has a friendly, bustling atmosphere.

Playa Blanca Town & Promenade, Casual & Mid-Range Dining

The heart of Playa Blanca and its long seafront promenade are lined with restaurants to suit every taste and budget. As someone who has called this island home for many years, I can say there’s nothing quite like an evening stroll here, pausing now and then for a drink or a relaxed meal while the sun slips down behind the ocean.

Restaurante Brisa Marina has been a favourite of ours for as long as I can remember, sitting right on the seafront. Their fresh fish and classic Canarian dishes are best enjoyed out on the terrace, where you can gaze across the water to Fuerteventura and soak up the gentle sea breeze.

La Cocina de Colacho is one of those places you hear about from locals who know where to find something special. The chef’s passion comes through in every seasonal menu and carefully chosen ingredient, and it really does feel like one of Playa Blanca’s best-kept secrets.

Lava Beach, right on Playa Flamingo, is a favourite spot of mine for a relaxed lunch. The menu leans towards Mediterranean flavours and fresh salads, all served with that easy-going, sun-soaked atmosphere that makes Playa Blanca so special.

The streets around Calle Limones are always buzzing with a lively mix of international restaurants, from Italian and Indian to Chinese and British. There are plenty of casual spots here where you can enjoy a good meal at a sensible price, perfect after a day spent exploring or relaxing in the sun.

If you’re craving Mexican, Cantina Mariachi on the main street has become a real favourite among locals and visitors alike. The atmosphere is always lively, with colourful décor and a menu full of classics like sizzling fajitas, cheesy enchiladas, fresh guacamole and margaritas that really do pack a punch. Their generous portions and friendly staff make it a great choice for families or groups of friends looking for a fun evening out. I especially love sitting out on the terrace, watching the world go by as the sun sets.

For Italian, Ninen Trattoria is the place everyone seems to be talking about these days. This cosy spot is all about authentic flavours, homemade pastas and wood-fired pizzas that keep people coming back. The menu changes with the seasons, but you can almost always count on rich lasagne, fresh seafood risotto and a tempting tiramisu. The owners are often there to recommend a good wine or share the story behind their favourite dish. It’s perfect for a romantic dinner or a relaxed meal with friends, and has that warm, family-run feel that regulars love.

Las Coloradas, Quiet Dining in the East of Playa Blanca

Las Coloradas sits at the eastern edge of Playa Blanca and offers a quieter, more residential feel. Here, the rocky coastline is dotted with a handful of restaurants that are favourites with local residents and villa guests alike.
Restaurante Las Coloradas is a long-standing favourite right on the seafront, run by a local family who keep things simple and welcoming.

The focus here is always on the freshest fish and shellfish, served just above the rocks with views across to Fuerteventura. I recommend trying the grilled limpets, garlic prawns, or simply asking for the catch of the day. If you can, book a table for sunset; it’s a lovely spot to watch the light change over the water.
You’ll also find a couple of smaller tapas bars and cafés tucked away in this part of town, perfect for those who want to enjoy a truly local atmosphere away from the busier heart of the resort.

Easting out in the Faro Park & Lighthouse Area of Playa Blanca

If you wander out west to Faro Park, you’ll come across a welcoming row of restaurants and bars that many of us who live in Playa Blanca have grown to love. It’s a peaceful spot, free from the usual tourist crowds, where each place has its own character and a steady group of regulars.

Flavours is our favourite spot for Indian food in Faro Park. The curries are always full of flavour, the tandoori dishes are perfectly spiced, and you’ll find all the classic starters on the menu. The team are genuinely welcoming, and it’s the kind of place where you can settle in for a relaxed meal, whether you fancy a creamy butter chicken, something with a bit more heat, or a generous vegetarian spread.

A little further along, The Port of Call is where many of us go when we’re in the mood for a proper British meal. Think traditional roast dinners, steak and ale pie, or classic fish and chips. The atmosphere is always friendly, with familiar faces and a team who make everyone feel at home.

If you’re in the mood for Italian, Dal Trevisano is a real treat, with wood-fired pizzas, homemade pastas, and desserts that are always tempting. The owners take pride in keeping things true to their roots, and you can taste it in every dish. Faro Pizzeria is another good choice for pizza, with a laid-back atmosphere and plenty of toppings.

The Snug is the classic British-style bar here, serving up all the pub favourites, a good pint, and a cheerful crowd. Bistro Bar is another favourite, with an international menu and a friendly, sociable feel that’s perfect for groups and families.

What makes Faro Park special, in my experience, is the real sense of community that you notice as soon as you arrive. Many of the owners and staff are local, and it’s always a pleasure to see familiar faces coming back year after year. There’s a true warmth to the welcome here, with generous portions and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that feels just right after a day spent soaking up the Lanzarote sunshine.

Eating out in Playa Blanca Frequently Asked Questions

It's the priciest dining area in Playa Blanca, but it's not crazy. Expect 20 to 35 euros for a main course at the top restaurants. The setting and quality justify the premium over the main town. You can still eat well for 15 to 20 euros if you pick carefully.

Las Coloradas for a traditional experience, or the harbour-side spots in the old fishing village part of town. Marina Rubicon restaurants also do excellent fresh fish, just in a more polished setting.

Yes. The promenade connects the main town to Marina Rubicon (about 15 minutes on foot) and carries on towards Las Coloradas. It's a lovely evening walk. Faro Park is further west, about 25 minutes from the centre on foot.
