What to expect from the Marina Rubicon Market.

Marina Rubicon Market Playa Blanca

The market runs along the waterfront at Marina Rubicón, the harbour on the southern tip of the island in Playa Blanca. It's one of the better markets in Lanzarote; well laid out and in a beautiful setting with the yachts moored up behind you.

Stalls sell the sort of things you'd expect from a Lanzarote market: jewellery, leather goods, clothing, local wines and limoncello, handmade crafts, and the usual souvenirs. What makes it stand out from the likes of the Teguise market is the quality of the pitch. There's noticeably less tat, stall holders tend to be the people who made the things they're selling, and most items are fairly priced. You won't find two stalls selling the same stuff.

It's a good morning out even if you're not buying. Walk the whole length of the marina, grab a coffee at one of the terrace bars, and watch the fishing boats come in. The market wraps up just as lunch kicks off, so it's easy to combine the two.

If you are staying in another resort it's possible to book an excursion to the Marina Rubicon Market.  These excursions also offer you some free time to spend in Playa Blanca itself.
