Volcano Safari Puerto del Carmen – Lanzarote’s Exciting New Family Attraction

If you’re searching for the best family activities in Lanzarote, then the brand-new Volcano Safari in Puerto del Carmen should be high on your list. Combining exciting mini golf, the Canary Islands’ only duckpin bowling alley, tasty food, cocktails, and a fantastic seafront location, this newly renovated attraction is quickly becoming one of the top things to do in Lanzarote.

One of the best things about Volcano Safari is its fantastic location. Situated right on the seafront in Puerto del Carmen, it’s directly opposite the San Antonio Hotel, making it incredibly easy to find. Any taxi driver in Lanzarote will know exactly where it is, and there’s also a bus stop directly outside with the number 3 bus stopping there regularly.

Whether you’re staying in Puerto del Carmen or elsewhere on the island, it’s easy to reach.

We arrived at around 7pm on a Saturday evening and were welcomed by two very friendly members of staff who explained all the activities and pricing options available.

We chose the twin ticket, priced at €16 for adults and €13 for children, which included:

• One round of mini golf
• One game of duckpin bowling

For a brand-new attraction in Lanzarote, we thought this offered excellent value for money.

Before starting, we ordered freshly made mojitos, and Slushies for the kids. 

The activity we were most excited about was the duckpin bowling because we had never tried it before.

Duckpin bowling is similar to traditional bowling but with smaller balls and shorter pins. The bowling balls are lighter and don’t have finger holes, making them much easier for children to handle while still being great fun for adults.

It’s fast-paced, competitive, and surprisingly addictive!

What makes Volcano Safari even more unique is that it currently features the only duckpin bowling alley in the Canary Islands. It’s completely new and only recently opened, making it one of the most unique attractions in Puerto del Carmen.

Our whole family absolutely loved it, especially the kids.

After bowling, we stopped for snacks and were impressed with the variety available.

The menu included:

• Fresh sausage rolls
• Pastries
• Pizza
• Ice creams
• Cocktails and soft drinks

After snacks, we headed over to the mini golf course. Mini golf is always one of the most popular family activities in Puerto del Carmen, and Volcano Safari has created a course that’s ideal for both adults and children.

As always with mini golf, the friendly family competition quickly became very serious!

One really nice extra touch was discovering that on the back of the mini golf score sheet there’s a voucher for a free popcorn or drink at the Starlight Open Air Cinema, another popular attraction in Puerto del Carmen. That definitely helped us plan our next Lanzarote evening out.
