Arrecife Funfair 2026: Here’s What We Know So Far About Lanzarote’s Biggest Fairground
If you’ve been enjoying the funfair in Puerto del Carmen and are wondering where it’s heading next, the good news is that it won’t be travelling far.
The annual travelling funfair is expected to move to Arrecife as part of the island’s much-loved Fiestas de San Ginés, the capital’s biggest celebration of the year. While the full official programme for 2026 has not yet been released, enough information is already available to help visitors plan ahead.
When will the Arrecife funfair open?
Current information indicates that the San Ginés celebrations will run from Friday 14 August until Tuesday 25 August 2026, with the travelling funfair forming one of the main attractions throughout the festivities. The detailed programme is still being prepared by Arrecife Town Hall.
Where will the funfair be?
As in previous years, the fairground is expected to be located at the Ginory fairground, close to the Cabildo building and within walking distance of the Charco de San Ginés, Playa del Reducto and the city centre. This makes it easy to combine an evening at the funfair with the many concerts, food stalls and entertainment taking place across the capital.
What opening times can visitors expect?
At the time of writing, official opening hours have not yet been announced.
Based on previous editions of the San Ginés festivities, visitors can generally expect the fair to open around 6pm and continue until around midnight, with extended opening hours on Fridays, Saturdays and the busiest fiesta evenings. These times will be confirmed once the official programme is published.
More than just a funfair
The San Ginés celebrations are recognised as one of Lanzarote’s biggest annual festivals and attract thousands of residents and tourists every August.
Alongside the fairground rides, visitors can usually enjoy:
- Free live music and concerts.
- Traditional Canarian food stalls and ventorrillos.
- Sporting events and sailing competitions.
- Family entertainment and children’s activities.
- Cultural performances and folklore.
- A spectacular fireworks display to bring the festivities to a close.
Discount days and inclusive sessions
Although nothing has yet been confirmed for 2026, previous editions have included Children’s Days, where many rides are offered at reduced prices, as well as quieter inclusive sessions designed for visitors with sensory sensitivities. Similar initiatives are expected to return once this year’s programme is officially announced.
