Elderly Woman Rescued After Fall at Home in Puerto Calero, Lanzarote
An elderly woman was taken to hospital after suffering a fall inside her home in Puerto Calero, on Friday afternoon, 16 October 2026.
According to reports citing Lanzarote’s Security and Emergencies Consortium, the emergency call came in at around 5.40pm. Firefighters and an ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) were sent to a property on Calle Alegranza after assistance was needed to reach the woman.
FIREFIGHTERS HELP PARAMEDICS ACCESS THE PROPERTY
Emergency crews first attempted to enter through a window, but this was not possible. Firefighters then forced the lock on the main entrance door, allowing medical personnel to get inside and attend to the woman.
The woman had suffered a fracture to her upper arm, known medically as a humerus fracture. After she was stabilised by healthcare staff, she was transported by ambulance to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife for further care.
