A man has been found sadly deceased inside his home in Costa Teguise after a concerned neighbour raised the alarm on Monday morning.
Emergency services were called to a property on Calle Bergantín in Costa Teguise at around 8am on Monday, 14 September, following concerns for the welfare of a resident who was not responding.
According to information provided by the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium, the deceased was an English national aged approximately 75.
A number of emergency services attended the property, including firefighters, Guardia Civil officers, Local Police and an ambulance from the Servicio de Urgencias Canario (SUC).

The emergency response followed an alert from a person who became concerned after the man failed to respond. The available report indicates that he lived alone and had existing medical problems.

The available information points to an individual medical or welfare-related emergency at a private residence. No further details about the circumstances or precise cause of death have been released.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of checking on elderly neighbours, particularly people who live alone. In an emergency in Lanzarote, residents and visitors should contact 112, the Canary Islands emergency number.
Costa Teguise is one of Lanzarote's popular residential and holiday areas, with a large permanent population alongside visitors throughout the year.
Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this time.
