UK airline Jet2 has announced a new service with the launch of VIP flights, bringing a premium travel experience to Lanzarote. The move reflects growing demand for more comfort, privacy, and exclusivity among holidaymakers travelling to the Canary Islands.
Jet2’s First-Ever VIP Flight Experience
Jet2 will introduce its first-ever VIP charter flights starting in October 2026, marking a significant shift from its traditional low-cost model. These flights will feature a business-class style configuration on a specially adapted Boeing 737-800.
The aircraft will be based at Liverpool John Lennon Airport and operate throughout the winter season until May 2027, targeting travellers seeking a more exclusive journey to sunshine destinations like Lanzarote.
Passengers can expect:
- Enhanced seating with extra space
- Increased privacy onboard
- A more personalised, premium service
For all of us who’s done the standard 4-hour flight wedged into a tight seat (we’ve all been there), this is a pretty appealing upgrade.
Why Lanzarote?
Lanzarote remains one of Jet2’s key destinations, with thousands of UK travellers flying to the island each week.
The Canary Islands continue to see strong year-round demand thanks to:
- Consistent warm weather
- Luxury resorts and villas
- Growing interest in premium holiday experiences
Jet2 already operates extensive routes to the Canary Islands, including Lanzarote, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, and La Palma.
By introducing VIP flights, the airline is hoping to tap into a more affluent segment of travellers looking for comfort without switching to long-haul destinations.
Meeting Demand for Premium Travel
The introduction of VIP flights is a direct response to customer demand for upgraded travel experiences. According to reports, passengers are increasingly prioritising:
- Comfort over price
- Less crowded cabins
- Exclusive, stress-free journeys
Jet2’s move aligns with a broader travel trend where holidaymakers are willing to spend more on the journey itself, not just the destination.
Will it be Popular?
Your flight can set the tone for the whole trip.
Arriving in Lanzarote feeling relaxed instead of cramped and tired makes a huge difference. Whether you’re heading to Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca, or Costa Teguise, starting your holiday in a better mood is never a bad thing.
Time will tell, is a VIP flight something you would consider?
