WHY LATE-NIGHT DRIVING IN LANZAROTE REQUIRES EXTRA CARE

Lanzarote's roads can be very different depending on the time of day. During daylight hours, visitors may be familiar with the island's main routes, but driving after dark can present additional challenges.
Some rural and coastal roads have limited lighting, while bends, changes in road width and unexpected hazards can require drivers to concentrate fully on the road ahead.
For visitors hiring a car in Lanzarote, it is important to remember that driving conditions can change quickly, particularly at night or during periods of strong wind.

DRIVING A HIRE CAR IN LANZAROTE

Hiring a car remains a popular way for tourists to explore Lanzarote, allowing visitors to reach places that can be more difficult to access by public transport.
However, visitors should always familiarise themselves with the route before setting off, follow local speed limits and avoid driving when tired.
If you are travelling on unfamiliar roads at night, allowing extra time for the journey can also help avoid the temptation to rush.
