RECOMMENDED: Web Design by Ian – Professional Website Design & Development
When I first decided to develop Lanzarote Waits for You into a fully established website, I had a clear vision for what I wanted to create — but turning that vision into a practical, professional website was another matter.
I had lots of ideas, lots of questions and, if I'm honest, limited technical knowledge when it came to the more complicated side of websites.
That is where Ian from Web Design by Ian has made such a difference.
Ian is a web designer and developer based in Brighton & Hove, with a long-standing connection to Lanzarote. He has been designing and developing websites since 2006 and works with individuals and businesses in Lanzarote, across the UK and internationally.
BUILDING THE WEBSITE AROUND THE BUSINESS
One of the things I have particularly appreciated about working with Ian is that the process has never felt like simply ordering a website from a catalogue.
We spent many months talking backwards and forwards about the ideas behind Lanzarote Waits for You, how the existing brand could be developed and, most importantly, what the website needed to achieve.
Ian helped me take a large number of ideas and turn them into a realistic plan, working through the project in stages and prioritising what needed to be done first while keeping future developments in mind.
That forward planning has been extremely useful because the website is continuing to evolve. We are still discussing ideas for future developments rather than treating the launch of the website as the end of the project.
PATIENT, PROFESSIONAL AND EASY TO WORK WITH
I'm the first to admit that I'm not a technical person, so having someone who can explain things clearly is really important to me.
Ian has always taken the time to explain how things work in straightforward language, rather than making me feel overwhelmed by technical terminology.
He also helped me understand the website well enough that I could manage much of the day-to-day content myself. That gave me the confidence to get articles, information and other content published without having to rely on someone else for every small change.
And when I do have a question or run into something I don't understand, Ian is very responsive and quick to help.
WHAT DOES WEB DESIGN BY IAN OFFER?
Ian provides much more than standard website design. His services include WordPress website design and development, bespoke website development, web applications, booking systems, e-commerce and online payments.
He also offers SEO services, including website reviews covering technical and content issues, with plans built around the search terms relevant to a business.
For businesses that want ongoing support after their website goes live, his Care Plans cover areas such as security, backups, updates, hosting, optimisation and technical support.
He also offers bespoke development when a business needs functionality that goes beyond a standard WordPress website.
A PERSONAL APPROACH
One of the strongest reasons I would recommend Ian is his personal approach.
He runs a one-person studio and handles projects personally, which means you are dealing directly with the person designing and developing your website rather than being passed between different departments.
For a small business owner, I think that matters.
Your website is often one of the most important parts of your business, so having someone who takes the time to understand what you are trying to achieve — and who is prepared to work with you as your business develops — is invaluable.
MY RECOMMENDATION
I've now experienced the process from the initial ideas and planning through to building, launching and developing Lanzarote Waits for You, so my recommendation comes from personal experience.
If you're looking for a web designer, I would definitely recommend speaking to Ian.
Whether you need a new WordPress website, a completely bespoke website, help with SEO, online booking or e-commerce functionality, or simply someone who can provide reliable ongoing website support, he is worth having a conversation with.
For me, the biggest benefit has been having someone who doesn't just build a website and walk away. Ian has worked with me to understand the idea, helped shape the plan, explained the technical side in a way I could understand and continues to be available as Lanzarote Waits for You develops.
That ongoing relationship is something I genuinely value, and it is why I'm happy to recommend Web Design by Ian to other businesses and individuals looking for professional web design and development.
