Two Arrested Following Knife Robbery in Punta Mujeres
Two people have been arrested by the Guardia Civil following a robbery in Punta Mujeres, Lanzarote, in which a man suffered injuries to his hand after confronting suspects who had allegedly stolen his headphones.
According to the investigation, the incident began when the victim realised his headphones had been taken. When he challenged the individuals believed to be responsible, the confrontation escalated, and one of the suspects allegedly threatened him with a knife. During the struggle, the victim sustained cuts to his hand before the suspects fled the scene.
The injured man received medical treatment, while officers from the Guardia Civil launched an investigation using witness statements and other evidence gathered at the scene.
The investigation led to the identification and arrest of two suspects in connection with the robbery. Both have been handed over to the judicial authorities and face allegations relating to robbery with violence and causing injuries.
Knife-related crimes remain uncommon in Lanzarote, and incidents of this nature are taken seriously by the island’s security forces. The Guardia Civil continues to encourage residents and visitors to report suspicious behaviour promptly and to avoid confronting suspects if they witness or become victims of a theft.
The case remains under judicial investigation.
