Two Men Arrested After Family Dispute Escalates in Arrecife
Two men have been arrested in Arrecife, Lanzarote, after an alleged family dispute escalated into a confrontation involving knives.
According to information released by local authorities, the incident took place on Wednesday evening, when witnesses alerted the Arrecife Local Police after seeing two men threatening each other with bladed weapons during a heated argument.
Witnesses Help Police Locate the Suspects
By the time officers arrived, both men had already left the area. However, witness descriptions enabled police to quickly identify and locate them.
One suspect was reportedly found nearby carrying a knife concealed on his ankle. Police say he admitted that the witnesses’ account of the incident was accurate. The second man was later located and arrested as part of the same investigation.
Dispute Believed to Be Family-Related

Taken Into Custody
Both men were taken to the National Police Station in Arrecife, where they were placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
Police said neither individual was carrying identification documents at the time of their arrest, and one of the men was first taken to a local health centre for a medical assessment before being transferred into custody.
