Woman Injured After Fall at Las Grietas in Lanzarote
Emergency services were called into action after a woman was injured while walking in the popular Las Grietas area of Lanzarote, a striking volcanic landscape that attracts both tourists and locals throughout the year.
The incident occurred in the natural rock formation located on the boundary between the municipalities of Tías and San Bartolomé. After receiving the alert, firefighters, local police officers and medical personnel responded to the scene to assist the injured hiker.
According to emergency reports, the woman suffered a fractured right ankle after falling while exploring the area. Due to the uneven volcanic terrain, rescue teams worked together to stabilise her injury by fitting a semi-rigid splint before carefully transferring her onto a rescue stretcher. She was then moved to a waiting ambulance for further assessment and treatment.
