Woman Seriously Injured in Early Hours of Thursday Collision in Costa Teguise
A 40-year-old woman was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Costa Teguise during the early hours of Thursday, 16 July.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:09am in Plaza Pueblo Marinero, when the Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES 1-1-2) received reports that a pedestrian required urgent medical assistance after being hit by a vehicle.
Emergency crews, including a medicalised ambulance and a basic life support ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), responded quickly to the scene. Paramedics stabilised the woman before transporting her to Dr. José Molina Orosa University Hospital in Arrecife.
She was reported to have suffered multiple serious injuries. Her current condition has not been released.
Local Police secured the area and have launched an investigation to establish exactly how the collision occurred.
The incident is a reminder for both drivers and pedestrians to take extra care, particularly during late-night and early-morning hours in busy resort areas such as Costa Teguise, where visibility can be reduced and nightlife activity remains high.
