Staying Safe Around Lanzarote’s Coast
While Arrieta Beach is a popular destination for both tourists and residents, some coastal access points around Lanzarote include stone or concrete steps that can become slippery due to sand, sea spray, or wet footwear.
Visitors can reduce the risk of accidents by:
- Wearing suitable footwear with good grip.
- Taking extra care on steps and uneven pathways.
- Using handrails where available.
- Avoiding rushing, particularly when carrying beach equipment.
- Staying hydrated, especially during periods of high temperatures, as dehydration can contribute to dizziness or fainting.
Most of Lanzarote’s beaches are well served by emergency services, with ambulance crews and volunteer rescue organisations able to respond quickly when incidents occur.
