Arrecife Reinforces Security as San Ginés 2026 Reaches Its Finale
Arrecife is preparing for one of the busiest nights of the San Ginés 2026 celebrations, with more than 100 personnel, drones and security cameras being deployed across the capital of Lanzarote.
The final day of the Fiestas de San Ginés 2026 is expected to bring large crowds into Arrecife as residents and visitors gather for the closing celebrations, including the headline concert and traditional fireworks.
With thousands of people expected around the Parque Temático, El Reducto and Arrecife seafront, the Ayuntamiento de Arrecife has put additional security and traffic measures in place to help keep the event safe and manage the large number of people and vehicles expected in the city.
More than 100 people involved in the security operation
The special San Ginés security operation involves more than 100 personnel from different services.
The deployment includes Policía Local de Arrecife, Policía Nacional, Protección Civil, private security personnel, the Lanzarote Security and Emergencies Consortium and medical and ambulance teams.
Additional municipal departments, including Mobility, Public Works and Festivities, are also involved in coordinating the operation.
The authorities are placing particular attention on the coastal area, with the main focus extending from the Parque Temático towards the area of the ventorrillos and the Puente de las Bolas.
This concentration of resources is designed to deal with the expected increase in pedestrian numbers while allowing emergency services to respond quickly if necessary.
Drones and cameras add extra layer of surveillance
Technology is also playing an increasingly important role in security during San Ginés in Arrecife.
The Policía Local has been using surveillance cameras positioned in different parts of the capital, together with mobile identification equipment connected to police databases.

Alternative parking available
To help deal with the increased demand for parking, the Arrecife Mobility and Transport department has made a large parking area alongside the Vía Medular available.
The facility has been made available with the cooperation of its owners and is intended to give people travelling into the capital an alternative to trying to park close to the main celebration areas.
There is also a designated PMR parking area for people with reduced mobility, located close to the Parque Temático, near the bus interchange and the former municipal cemetery site.
For visitors unfamiliar with Arrecife, using the alternative parking areas and walking towards the celebrations may be considerably easier than attempting to drive directly into the busiest parts of the city.
A busy finale for San Ginés 2026
The security measures come as Arrecife’s San Ginés celebrations reach their conclusion after twelve days of music, culture, sport and entertainment.
The final day is expected to be particularly busy, with David Bisbal headlining the closing concert before the traditional fireworks bring the celebrations to an end.
For tourists staying elsewhere on Lanzarote, San Ginés is also an opportunity to experience one of the island’s major local celebrations. However, anyone travelling into the capital should remember that the city will be significantly busier than usual.
