Driver Injured in Early-Morning Collision on Lanzarote’s LZ-30 Road

A driver was injured following a traffic collision involving two vehicles on Lanzarote’s LZ-30 road during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred near the village of Masdache, within the municipality of San Bartolomé, a route frequently used by residents travelling between central Lanzarote and surrounding communities, as well as tourists exploring the island’s famous wine region.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene shortly after the incident was reported. Medical personnel assessed those involved, with one driver requiring treatment for injuries sustained in the collision.

Firefighters Called to Secure the Scene

Following the crash, firefighters attended the location to remove debris and clean the affected section of roadway.

Traffic was temporarily affected while emergency crews carried out their operations, although normal movement was restored after the scene had been secured.

Busy Route Through Lanzarote’s Wine Country

The LZ-30 is one of Lanzarote’s most recognisable roads, passing through the heart of La Geria and connecting several important communities across the island. The route is particularly popular with visitors heading to wineries, restaurants and rural attractions.

Reminder for Residents and Visitors

With Lanzarote welcoming millions of visitors each year, local authorities continue to encourage both residents and tourists to drive cautiously, maintain safe distances between vehicles and adapt their speed to road and weather conditions.

Although the exact circumstances leading to the collision have not been officially released, investigations are expected to determine the cause of the incident.

The accident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety on both major routes and secondary roads across the island.
