Halloween in Lanzarote 2026: Events in Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca, Teguise and More

If you are visiting Lanzarote at the end of October, or are lucky enough to call the island home, there is more to enjoy than pumpkins and fancy dress. Across Lanzarote, Halloween events are sharing the calendar with the Canary Islands’ traditional Noche de Finaos: a time associated with remembering loved ones, gathering together and enjoying seasonal food and music.

For Halloween in Lanzarote 2026, events announced for 29–31 October and the beginning of November include spooky street parades, haunted-house experiences, children’s workshops, costume competitions, live entertainment and activities inspired by Canarian culture. Here is a practical guide to some of the events announced around the island. Check with the relevant town hall or organiser before travelling, as programmes and timings can change.

Puerto del Carmen and Tías: parades, scares and Finaos

In Puerto del Carmen, the programme is due to begin on Thursday 29 October with a Halloween parade at 19:30. The procession is scheduled to travel from Calle Bajamar towards Plaza del Varadero, followed by a Casa del Terror for children and adults who fancy a spooky experience.

On Friday 30 October, Tías turns to the Noche de Finaos at Plaza Leandro Fajardo from 17:30. The announced programme includes a popular seasonal gathering with roasted chestnuts, cheese and mistela, alongside music from students of the Tías music school and performances involving Mel Reyes and José Vicente Pérez. A street-theatre performance about the Finaos in the 21st century is scheduled for 18:45, followed by the Festival Guágaro at the municipal theatre at 20:00.

Racho Texas also host their own Halloween Themes Night.

Saturday 31 October brings more Halloween activity to the commercial area of Tías. A “Theatre of Terror” is scheduled for 17:00–19:00; access is linked to a qualifying purchase of at least €20 at participating shops during October, so check the local conditions before going. A roaming DJ, costume competitions for children, adults and pets, and a parade from the Mamud Burger roundabout along Avenida Alcalde Florencio Suárez are also listed. A separate youth event, Noche Joven Prohibida, is planned at Plaza El Pavón for ages 12 and over.

Cafe La Ola are also planning a Halloween Event of their own, contact them directly for more information and availability.

Playa Blanca: a family-friendly Halloween afternoon

In the south of Lanzarote, Playa Blanca is planning Halloween activities at Plaza del Carmen on Saturday 31 October. The announced programme begins at 17:00 with themed make-up, glitter and tattoos, plus costumed characters for photographs and interaction. A Halloween mini-disco is scheduled for 19:00, followed at 20:00 by a parade and show featuring spooky villains. It could be a good option for families looking for Halloween events in Playa Blanca without needing to travel north.

Playa Honda and San Bartolomé: workshops and a House of Terror

The municipality of San Bartolomé has announced activities for Saturday 31 October in both San Bartolomé town and Playa Honda. In San Bartolomé, Halloween entertainment is listed for 11:00–13:00 in the courtyard of Casa Cerdeña. Later, Playa Honda Civic Centre is due to host outdoor Halloween workshops from 17:00–20:00, with a House of Terror inside the centre scheduled from 18:00 until 23:00. Families should check age suitability and any access arrangements before setting off.

Teguise and La Graciosa: keeping the Finaos tradition alive

For a more traditional flavour, Teguise and La Graciosa are including activities inspired by the Noche de Finaos. In the historic town of Teguise, Saturday’s announced events include a workshop making baskets for dried fruit at Plaza Maciot de Bethencourt at 18:00, a musical walkabout by Parranda El Golpito at 19:00 and a travelling street-theatre performance, Finaos siglo XIX, at 20:00.

On La Graciosa, children’s activities are planned at the Centro Sociocultural Inocencia Páez from 16:00 to 18:00, including storytelling about the Finaos and a workshop decorating chestnuts. These events offer visitors a chance to see how the season is marked beyond imported Halloween customs.

Haría and the north of Lanzarote

Haría is also expected to mark the Noche de Finaos with a theatrical route organised with cultural partners. The exact meeting point and start time should be confirmed locally before attending. If you are exploring the north of Lanzarote, it is worth checking the municipality’s latest announcements for any updates and combining an event with a visit to the village, its cafés and the surrounding countryside.

Tinajo and the central island

Tinajo’s announced programme, known as Tinajoween, combines Halloween activities with Finaos traditions across the period from 30 October into early November. Listings include activities around Plaza de San Roque, a “House of Fear”, theatre and music. Check the latest municipal programme for the precise times and any age guidance.

What about Arrecife and the rest of Lanzarote?

Events and details can be announced at different times, and not every municipality has the same kind of celebration. If you are staying in Arrecife, Costa Teguise, Mácher, Uga or another part of Lanzarote, check the relevant town hall, cultural venue and local event listings for the latest information. Some activities are organised by municipalities, while others are run by community groups or local businesses, so there may be smaller events that do not appear in island-wide round-ups.

A note on the Noche de Finaos

The Noche de Finaos is a Canarian tradition connected with remembering those who have died and gathering with family and neighbours. Chestnuts, dried fruits, stories and music are often associated with seasonal gatherings. It is not simply another name for Halloween: the two observances have different roots, and their shared place on the calendar gives residents and visitors an opportunity to experience both contemporary fancy-dress fun and local cultural traditions.

Tips for enjoying Halloween in Lanzarote

• Check the date, time and location on an official municipal page before travelling. • Arrive early for parades and popular family activities, and follow any road closures or instructions from organisers. • If a haunted house has age limits, ticket requirements or purchase conditions, confirm these in advance. • Bring a light layer for the evening and comfortable shoes for walking between venues. • Be considerate around traditional Finaos events and memorial services, which may be quieter and more reflective than Halloween parties. • Support local shops, cafés and restaurants while exploring the celebrations.

Enjoy Halloween across the island

Whether you want a Halloween parade in Puerto del Carmen, family activities in Playa Blanca, a spooky House of Terror in Playa Honda or traditional Finaos festivities in Teguise and La Graciosa, Lanzarote has several ways to enjoy the end-of-October weekend. With events spread across the island, it is worth checking local updates and planning ahead so you can make the most of Halloween in Lanzarote 2026.
