Lanzarote Hotels Generate €60 Million in June as Tourism Continues to Grow
Lanzarote’s tourism industry continues to show strong performance, with the island’s hotels generating €60 million in revenue during June 2026. The latest figures reveal a combination of increased visitor numbers, higher average room prices and significant job growth across the hospitality sector.
For both residents and holidaymakers, the figures underline just how important tourism remains to Lanzarote’s economy while also highlighting the continued demand for holidays on the island.
Hotel Revenue Up Nearly 13%
According to the latest tourism data, Lanzarote’s hotels earned €60 million in June, representing an increase of 12.9% compared with June 2025, when hotel revenue stood at just over €53 million. The increase was driven by both rising accommodation prices and more visitors choosing to stay in hotels across the island.
More Tourists Choosing Lanzarote
The number of guests staying in Lanzarote’s hotels also increased during June.
- Around 172,700 tourists stayed in hotels during the month.
- This represents an increase of approximately 4.1% compared with the same period last year.
- Hotel overnight stays reached almost 985,000 nights, a modest increase on 2025.
The figures suggest that demand for Lanzarote holidays remains strong despite higher accommodation prices.
Hotel Prices Continue to Rise
Average hotel room rates also increased during June.
The average nightly hotel rate reached €133.88, compared with €121.01 in June last year, an increase of around 10.6%. Higher room prices contributed significantly to the growth in overall hotel revenue.
While visitors are paying slightly more for accommodation, Lanzarote continues to attract large numbers of tourists thanks to its year-round sunshine, beaches, volcanic landscapes and extensive range of hotels.
Occupancy Slightly Lower – But for a Positive Reason
Although hotel occupancy fell slightly from 84.2% to 81.4%, this doesn’t necessarily indicate weaker demand.
Instead, the island now has more hotel beds available than it did a year ago. Accommodation capacity increased by just over 5%, meaning there were more rooms available across Lanzarote’s hotels while still welcoming more guests overall.
Tourism Creates More Jobs
The growth in tourism has also been reflected in employment.
Hotel staffing levels increased by almost 15% year-on-year, with more than 11,000 people employed across Lanzarote’s hotel sector during June.
This represents over 1,400 additional hotel jobs compared with the same month in 2025, highlighting tourism’s ongoing importance to the island’s economy.
What It Means for Visitors
For tourists planning a holiday to Lanzarote, the latest figures suggest:
- Hotels remain in high demand throughout the summer.
- Booking accommodation early may provide a wider choice and better prices.
- The island continues to invest in tourism infrastructure and hospitality services.
- Visitors can expect busy resorts while still enjoying the relaxed atmosphere that Lanzarote is known for.
Looking Ahead
The latest statistics reinforce Lanzarote’s position as one of the Canary Islands’ most popular holiday destinations. Despite higher accommodation prices, visitor demand remains strong, hotels are employing more staff, and the tourism sector continues to make a significant contribution to the island’s economy.
With summer well underway and international demand remaining healthy, Lanzarote looks set to continue welcoming thousands of visitors throughout the peak holiday season.
