Lanzarote Weather Update: Sunshine Returns This Weekend
The rain looks set to ease across Lanzarote, with brighter skies and some welcome sunshine forecast for Sunday. After a spell of unsettled weather, holidaymakers and residents will be hoping the island can get back to its usual October sunshine.
If you are visiting Lanzarote this weekend, planning a beach day or simply wondering whether to leave the umbrella at home, here is the latest look at the weather forecast for today and tomorrow.
LANZAROTE WEATHER TODAY – SATURDAY 10 OCTOBER
Saturday has brought some unsettled conditions, with showers around earlier in the day. However, the forecast suggests that conditions should improve as the afternoon progresses, with brighter spells developing across much of the island.
For Tías, the forecast gives a high of around 22°C, with brighter spells expected this afternoon. There is still a chance of a passing shower, especially later, so the weather may not be completely settled just yet.
For anyone staying in Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise or Playa Blanca, there should be opportunities to get outside and enjoy the island, although keeping an eye on the changing skies is sensible.
LANZAROTE WEATHER TOMORROW – SUNDAY 11 OCTOBER
Sunday is looking much more promising, with long sunny spells and a warmer, brighter feel expected across Lanzarote.
In Tías, temperatures are forecast to reach around 23°C, with a very low chance of rain during the day. It should be a better prospect for the beach, a coastal walk, sightseeing or enjoying lunch on a sunny terrace.
Cloud may develop at times later in the day, but the overall outlook is considerably more encouraging than the recent showery conditions.
IS THE RAIN OVER IN LANZAROTE?
For now, the outlook suggests that the daytime showers may be easing, particularly as Sunday is expected to be considerably drier. However, it is too early to say that the rain has disappeared completely, and localised showers can still occur.
Lanzarote's weather can vary between resorts and inland areas, so conditions in Puerto del Carmen may not be identical to those in Arrecife, Teguise or Playa Blanca.
If you are planning activities outdoors, check the latest local forecast before setting off.
THE OUTLOOK FOR LANZAROTE
The encouraging news is that the forecast points towards a brighter Sunday after Saturday's unsettled start. While showers cannot be ruled out everywhere, conditions are expected to improve, giving visitors and residents a better chance of enjoying the island outdoors.
Our advice: If the rain has disrupted your plans, Sunday looks like a good opportunity to get back out and enjoy Lanzarote. Here's hoping the sunshine sticks around!
