Man Taken to Hospital After Early-Morning Fight in Arrecife, Lanzarote

A man in his early 20s was taken to hospital after being injured during an altercation in Arrecife, Lanzarote, in the early hours of Sunday, 18 October 2026. The incident was reported to the Canary Islands’ emergency coordination service, CECOES 112, at approximately 6.06am on Calle Manolo Millares in the island’s capital. Emergency medical teams attended and treated the injured man at the scene. He had a cut to his back, which medical staff assessed as being of moderate seriousness. The Servicio de Urgencias Canario (SUC) dispatched a medicalised ambulance and a basic life-support ambulance. Following initial treatment, the man was transported by medicalised ambulance to Hospital Doctor José Molina Orosa in Arrecife for further care.

Police attended the scene

Officers from the Policía Nacional and Policía Local de Arrecife also responded. Authorities secured the area and began the relevant enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident. At the time of reporting, officials had not publicly provided further details about what led to the altercation or whether anyone else was involved. It is important not to speculate while enquiries are ongoing.

What visitors and residents should know

The incident took place in Arrecife, Lanzarote’s capital, rather than in one of the island’s main resort areas. The available official information relates to this specific event and does not, by itself, indicate a wider threat to visitors or residents. As anywhere, people should avoid confrontations, look after one another when out at night and contact emergency services if someone is injured or in immediate danger. In an emergency in Lanzarote, call 112. The number is used across the Canary Islands for urgent assistance and can coordinate the appropriate emergency services. We will update this report if authorities release further confirmed information.
