Road safety in Lanzarote

Accidents involving cars and motorcycles are an important reminder for both residents and visitors to take extra care when driving around Lanzarote. Arrecife has a busy network of urban streets, junctions and roundabouts, and drivers should remain alert, particularly at night when visibility and traffic conditions can change quickly.

Visitors hiring cars or motorcycles in Lanzarote should also take time to familiarise themselves with local roads and traffic signs before setting off. Motorcyclists and scooter riders should use appropriate protective equipment and make themselves as visible as possible to other road users.

For residents, commuters and tourists travelling around Arrecife, allowing extra time, keeping a safe distance and approaching junctions carefully can all help improve road safety.

This latest Lanzarote news comes after a number of traffic incidents reported across the island in recent days, highlighting the importance of care on Lanzarote's roads.
