One Seriously Injured After Late-Night Traffic Accident in Costa Teguise
A serious traffic accident in Costa Teguise late last night left three young men injured, including one person who suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital.
Emergency services were called to Calle Ruta del Norte in Costa Teguise at approximately 10:58pm after reports that a vehicle had left the road. The incident triggered a rapid response from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), firefighters, and police.
According to emergency reports, a 22-year-old man sustained serious trauma injuries and was transported by ambulance to Hospital Doctor José Molina Orosa in Arrecife. Two other men, both aged 24, suffered minor injuries and were also taken to hospital for treatment.
Emergency crews worked at the scene late into the night securing the accident area and assisting the injured occupants. Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact cause of the crash, although investigations are ongoing.
The incident adds to a series of recent traffic accidents reported in Costa Teguise and across Lanzarote in recent weeks, raising renewed concerns about road safety on some of the island’s busiest routes.
Costa Teguise remains one of Lanzarote’s most visited resort areas, particularly popular with tourists and residents travelling between Arrecife and the island’s eastern coastal zones.
Police are expected to continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
