Saborea Lanzarote Food Festival Postponed Until March 2027

Food lovers planning a trip to Lanzarote have a new date to put in the diary. The next Saborea Lanzarote Food and Wine Festival will no longer take place in November 2026 as originally planned. The festival has been moved to 19–21 March 2027.

Why has Saborea Lanzarote been postponed?

The change follows the new Spanish electoral calendar. The Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa has decided that moving the event away from the original November dates is the best way to provide the organisers, businesses and participants with the planning and operational conditions needed for an event of this size.

The festival had originally been scheduled for 28 and 29 November 2026 in the historic Villa de Teguise.

Rather than cancelling the event, the organisers have moved it to March, giving the local food and hospitality sector more time to prepare.

What is Saborea Lanzarote?

Saborea Lanzarote is one of the island’s major food and wine events and puts local produce, chefs, restaurants, wineries and food producers in the spotlight.

The festival is designed to showcase Lanzarote gastronomy and the products of Lanzarote and La Graciosa. Visitors can expect the event to bring together restaurants, producers, bodegas and other businesses connected with the island’s food and drink scene.

Lanzarote has a particularly distinctive food culture. Local cuisine includes fresh fish and seafood, goat meat, cheeses, potatoes, vegetables and other produce grown in the island’s unusual volcanic environment. Lanzarote wines, particularly those produced in the volcanic landscape of La Geria, are also an important part of the island’s gastronomic identity.

The Saborea Lanzarote project promotes food tourism as part of the wider visitor experience, encouraging people to discover the island through its local produce, restaurants, wine and traditional cooking.

Saborea Lanzarote 2027: the new dates

The new dates announced for the festival are:

Friday 19 March to Sunday 21 March 2027

The event was originally planned as a two-day festival in November, but the new March dates run across three days.

At the moment, the full programme for Saborea Lanzarote 2027 has not been released. The organisers have said that details about participating businesses, activities and the programme will be announced progressively as preparations continue.

What does the change mean for tourists?

For visitors planning a holiday in Lanzarote, the postponement simply means changing the dates if the food festival was part of your November plans.

March is already a popular time to visit Lanzarote, thanks to the island’s mild climate and wide range of activities. The new festival weekend could give visitors another reason to explore Villa de Teguise and experience Lanzarote beyond its beaches and resort areas.

If you are planning a Lanzarote holiday specifically around Saborea Lanzarote, it is worth waiting for the official programme before making plans around individual restaurants, chefs, workshops or performances.

Why Villa de Teguise is worth visiting

Villa de Teguise provides a particularly atmospheric setting for a Lanzarote food festival. The former island capital is one of Lanzarote’s best-known historic towns, with traditional architecture, narrow streets, independent businesses and a strong connection with local culture.

Combining a visit to Saborea Lanzarote with time to explore Teguise can turn a food event into a full day out. Visitors can also look at the town’s markets, shops, historic buildings and surrounding attractions while enjoying the atmosphere of one of the island’s most important cultural destinations.

A boost for Lanzarote's food tourism

The move to March does not change the wider importance of Saborea Lanzarote. The event is part of the island’s growing focus on food tourism and on giving visitors more opportunities to experience authentic local products.

Lanzarote is increasingly recognised for more than its volcanic scenery and year-round sunshine. Its wine-growing traditions, local agriculture, seafood, cheeses and restaurants all form part of the island’s identity.

For residents, the festival also provides an opportunity to support local producers, restaurants, wineries and other businesses connected with the food and hospitality industry.

Planning a Lanzarote food holiday?

If you are visiting Lanzarote in March 2027, Saborea Lanzarote could be an excellent event to add to your itinerary. Keep an eye on the official festival information as the date approaches, because the detailed programme and participating businesses are still being confirmed.

For food lovers, it is another good reason to explore Lanzarote’s local cuisine, discover products made on the island and experience Villa de Teguise at one of its biggest gastronomic events.
