Sonidos Líquidos Returns to La Geria in 2027 After Weather-Forced Cancellation
One of Lanzarote’s most iconic music and wine festivals is set to return to the volcanic vineyards of La Geria on Saturday, 5 June 2027, following the unfortunate cancellation of this year’s main event due to extreme weather conditions. Festival organisers have confirmed the new date and have already completed the refund process for both festival tickets and official bus transport tickets for the 2026 event.
Why Was Sonidos Líquidos Cancelled in 2026?
The decision to cancel the main Sonidos Líquidos event on 6 June 2026 was made after strong winds swept across Lanzarote, with gusts reported at more than 75 km/h in the La Geria area. Organisers stated that worsening forecasts made it impossible to guarantee the safety of festival-goers, performers, technicians and staff.
While disappointing for the thousands of music fans who had planned to attend, the decision was widely supported by attendees and local authorities, with safety taking priority over the event proceeding under hazardous conditions.
The cancellation was particularly significant because Sonidos Líquidos has become one of Lanzarote’s flagship cultural events, attracting visitors from across the Canary Islands, mainland Spain and international markets while showcasing the island’s unique combination of music, gastronomy and wine culture.
Sonidos Líquidos 2027: New Date Confirmed
Organisers have officially announced that the next full edition of Sonidos Líquidos will take place on:
📅 Saturday, 5 June 2027
📍 La Geria, Lanzarote
The festival is expected to once again transform Lanzarote’s famous wine-growing region into a spectacular open-air venue, surrounded by volcanic landscapes that have helped make the event internationally recognised.
When Do Tickets Go on Sale?
Tickets for Sonidos Líquidos 2027 are scheduled to go on sale from 12 June 2026 through the festival’s official sales channels. Given that previous editions have regularly sold out, anyone planning to attend should consider booking early once sales open.
A Festival That Showcases the Best of Lanzarote
For visitors, Sonidos Líquidos offers far more than live music. The festival is renowned for combining performances from leading Spanish and international artists with local wines, gastronomy and the breathtaking backdrop of La Geria’s volcanic vineyards.
For residents, the event has become an important celebration of Lanzarote’s cultural identity, supporting local producers, wineries and businesses while promoting sustainable tourism on the island. Previous editions have attracted a significant percentage of visitors from outside Lanzarote, generating valuable economic benefits for the local community.
Looking Ahead to 2027
Although weather brought an unexpected end to the 2026 edition, the announcement of a new date means music lovers will not have to wait long for the festival’s return. The resilience shown by organisers, local businesses and attendees reflects the same spirit that has helped Lanzarote thrive for generations despite its challenging natural environment.
With ticket sales opening in June 2026 and anticipation already building, Sonidos Líquidos 2027 is expected to be one of the most eagerly awaited events on Lanzarote’s cultural calendar.
